本課程想要探討幾個問題：
−
拉丁美洲國家是採取什麼樣的政策措施來促進其產業發展？這些策略的利與弊何在？
−
拉丁美洲國家多次陷入債務與金融危機，這與其貨幣體制和國際/區域金融市場的關聯如何？
−
拉丁美洲的區域的經濟整合情形如何？是否將繼續下去？
−
拉丁美洲的經濟發展、保護主義、外人直接投資、外匯體制、資本市場、區域經濟機制等等。
課程分為三大部分：國際貿易與投資、國際金融以及區域/國際合作。我們基本上不會專注於個別國家，而以整個區域為探索的重點，不過仍鼓勵學生對特定國家做較深入的了解。

玖、授課方式：課程將輔以作業，讓學生獲得更具體的了解。並鼓勵課堂上的討論，發展為期末報告。
一、
出席及參與(25%)：學生在上課前必須先仔細閱讀指定資料，並積極參與課堂之討論，曠課超過兩次將會明顯影響學期成績。
二、
提問 (20%)：每位學生必須針對三個主題就指定閱讀於上課前提出分析性問題，問題必須顯示對所閱讀資料有深切的了解，並與該堂課目有密切之關聯性。
三、 繳交學期報告(30%)：學生必須提交一篇5-7頁針對東南亞特定發展議題的學期政策報告，分析特定發展問題的起因，並提出解決之建議。報告大綱必須在期中考週之前提出，並取得授課老師的核可。報告將於課堂上討論，並於上課兩天前公布於教學平台上。評分的依據為—報告的內涵、分析的完整性、建議的可行性，以及課堂簡報資料的充分性與說服性。學生可提出三份草稿，以最後一份定稿作為評分之依據。截止日期將另行公佈。
